Biography

Dr Albert Ken Koerner is an Assistant Professor in Trauma Anesthesia at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Westminster, Maryland. He received his BS Degree in Biology at the University of Texas at Arlington and his MD Degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas. His internship in General Surgery was at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland Oregon. After completing a Research Fellowship at the Larrey Surgical Clinic in Portland, he entered Residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Pittsburg Medical Center where he became Chief Anesthesiology Resident with a focus on cardiac anesthesia and trans-esophageal echocardiography. then served as adjunct faculty for Anatomy and Physiology at Hagerstown Community College in Hagerstown, Maryland. Since 2012 he has served as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Dr Koerner is a former US Navy Diving Medical Officer specializing in Tactical Combat Casualty Care. He is a recreational diver.
